Vintage Hair Tutorial - Cute & Creepy Hairstyle

This week’s tutorial is to celebrate the relaunch of my Sarah Sprout Collection on Friday June 28th, 7pm. Sarah Sprout is my spooky side-arm of Sarah's Doo-Wop Dos and combines my love of all things botanical, witchy and Halloween with a passion for vintage. Follow this step-by-step vintage hair tutorial to create a hairstyle perfect for wearing with one of my new bat headbands.

You will need: Hairbands, hairbrush, hair grips and one of my newbat headbands.

1. Section off a front fringe section, neatly, and put it in a hairband to secure it. If you have a fringe already, add a little more hair into the section and combine it with your actual fringe as this needs a fair bit of hair in the section to work.

2. Take the rest of your hair at the back of your head and put it up in a high ponytail. Take some time to smooth the sides for a sleek look.

3. Going back to the front section tease the underside of the hair a little bit to create some volume and hold. Then roll the section at a slight angle down to your hairline, this will create a roll the sits to one side.

4. Once you have the roll how you like, secure it with hair grips and smooth away any flyaways.

5. To finish the back of the style get a good hairbrush and brush the hair ends around your hand to create a nice finish.

Final Look: Once you have the ponytail how you like it, add a little pomade or hairspray to finish and hold. Then add one of my bat headbands (available in florals and classic black) to complete the look for a cute and creepy finish.

My floral bat headband and bag set is made of upcycled fabric and will be available from Friday 28th June at 7pm, when the Sarah Sprout Collection relaunches here.
