How To Cover Your Pin-Curls.

While my stretchy, pre-tied turbans do an excellent job at covering pin-curls, a vintage hair staple, there is another option, true vintage scarves. My collection of scarves have been picked with tying 1940s styles in mind so are the perfect size and can be tied in a variety of ways to create a fun 1940s look.

To start: Once your pin-curls or rollers etc are in place you can follow these easy steps to create a look that you can pop out to the pub in.

Step 1: Take a small front section & gently backcomb it to give us some structure. 

Step 2: Roll the section sideways into an elevated pin-curl. Pin that securely in place, add a little hairspray if needed. 

Step 3: Now grab your favourite headscarf or buy one of mine here. 

Step 4: Fold your chosen scarf into a triangle shape & put the longest part against the  back of your head. You can add a couple of hair grips (bobby pins) for hold if needed.

Step 5: Tie the front of the scarf but not to tightly, keep it comfy. 

Step 6: Now tuck or tie the long ‘ear’ ends of the scarf to form a bow style at the front. The leftover back part can then be tucked under the knot to tidy it all up. More hair grips can be added either side of the knot for extra hold.

The Final Look: This style is great for keeping those curls in place while they set and can even be slept in to help them not get ruined overnight.
