How To Make A Flower Crown🌸
I have been hiding from the heat the last few days in front of the office fan and decided to use that time to make something I have wanted to do a blog on for a while. Although I am an autumn girl at heart I do love the long, light days of summer and I have been wanting to make a flower crown to celebrate midsummer/Summer Solstice so I gathered my suppliers and finally did just that!
What you will need: Fake flowers, wire (I used paper covered crafting wire), glue, scissors and ribbon.
Step 1: Get all your supplies ready and decide what colours you want to focus on with your flowers, I went for white and light blue with some pops of yellow.
Step 2: Make a circle that fits your head out of the wire. Then when you are happy with the size wrap a few more layers of the wire around to make it sturdier.
Step 3: Then start by adding a base of leaves to the wire. I stuck the ends of the leaves through the wire and then used a dab of glue to hold each leaf. I used my trusty glue gun for this.
Step 4: Layer up the fake flowers. I did the same with the flowers as the leaves and poked the plastic steams through the wrapped wire, then cut off the excess stem and added more glue. I tried to keep to similar colour flowers but use a mix of sizes and types to make it more interesting and less regimented.
Step 5: Pick a complimentary ribbon to use as a final touch.
Step 6: I glued the end of the ribbon to the wire and then wrapped it around from the outside in. I did a piece of ribbon from each side and then tided the ribbon in the middle and left the ends hanging as a little extra decoration.
Final Look:
I'm so happy with the final result, it has a lovely look without looking too regimented and will be prefect to wear this summer.
