Creepy Crafting: Making A Halloween Labubu (but it’s actually a Lafufu)🎃
These little Labubu creatures have been all over my TikTok FYP for weeks and I think they are adorable! Unfortunately finding a real one wasn’t the easiest and I ended up with a fake, or a Lafufu as they are called. Since it wasn’t expensive and I was planning to customise it anyway I wasn’t that bothered as it’s still cute even with the mis-printed smile.

I knew I wanted it to be orange as I was going for a Halloween theme so I decided to dye it with some of my graphic pens I had. I was pretty sure the pens would stain the fur and I didn’t want to use proper dye and risk dying the vinyl of the face. I did a little test area at the back with the pens and they worked! I ended up combining two colours of orange and although it ended up being more Fruit Salad sweets (remember them?) than orange pumpkin I still liked it. I then added some freckles with a Sharpie pen.

Then came the really fun bit, the clothing! At first I was going to make it a little pumpkin shaped Halloween costume but then after a little scroll on Pinterest I fell in love with the idea of a clown costume.

The making of the clown suit was pretty simple, I just drew around the doll and cut out a little template piece. Then used this as a template on my fabric. Luckily I still had some decent bits of scrap Halloween fabrics in my stash to use. Once the suit was sewn up I put it on the doll and hand stitched the hems on the arms & legs.

I decided the suit was too plain on its own so I added a ruff to the neck and then made a matching tiny clown hat from felt with more Halloween scrap fabric. By a happy accident I had recently bought some black pom poms from a charity shop and although they were a bit on the big size I was able to trim them down and use them on the suit and hat to give a nice extra touch.

Then as a finishing touch and because I was having fun I decided to make a Halloween bucket too. This was just some felt scraps hand stitched together and then re-enforced with hot glue and more felt scraps and a bit of elastic for a handle.
This little creature will now be living on one of my handbags and will make me smile whenever I look at it.
