Creepy Crafting: Making Summerween Jack-o-melon Cups.

What does every Summerween picnic need? Cute themed cups of course!
Last year I made some Jack-o-melon/Summerween themed cups out of cheap paper cups that I drew on with felt tips and while they looked cool they only lasted one use, so this year I wanted to upgrade them. Jack-o-melons are the summer equivalent of pumpkin Jack-o-lanterns and come from the Summerween episode of Gravity Falls (ep 12, series 1) and if you don’t know about Summerween yet make sure to read up on it on my blog post here.

For my new cups I wanted a base cup I could ideally use year after year, so it really needed to be plastic and as I prefer to buy my novelty plastic stuff secondhand, it means it’s a touch more sustainable, my search started on Vinted. In the end I found a set of great watermelon sippy cups for just £4 and bought some sticky vinyl sheets off Ebay for £2, making this even with postage a very affordable project.
Steps for making Jack-o-melon faces:
2. Get some red sticky vinyl, I went for a very bright red to give a glowing look. Drew out a face on the back of the vinyl.
3.Test out the size for the face.

4. Cut out the face pieces.
5. If happy with them, apply to the cup. You will need to smooth down any air bubbles with your fingers.
6. Do a few different faces to make each cup slightly different.
Now you can use your new Summerween cups at your next picnic or BBQ!
