Valentine’s Vintage Hair Tutorial
Need a romantic vintage hairstyle? Follow these steps for a truly show stopping style inspired by the 1940s.
This style isn’t the easiest to master but if you can do a victory roll or French pleat then you have the skills needed for creating this beautiful style.
You will need: Hair comb, backcomb brush, lots of hair grips, hairspray.
Steps:
Step 1: Create a fringe section at the front of your head. Backcomb it a little at the roots to create some hold & height.
Step 2: Now curl the section with your preferred method.
Step 3: Pin the curls in place. You want to create a section of curls off to one side of your face, that frames it a little.
Step 4: Now create 2 sections at the back of your head with the rest of your hair. Try to get a neat, balanced parting down the middle.
Step 5: Taking the first section backcomb into the roots to help the section have some hold and structure.
Step 6: Splitting the section into 2 start with the bottom section and roll it onto a tight French Pleat style roll. Secure it in place with a fair few hair grips.
Step 7: Then roll the top section onto a slightly bigger pleat. Now join the 2 together and smooth them so they create one long pleat. Use hair grips to secure it all in place.
Step 8: Repeat with the other side.
