Did You Spot One Of My Turbans On The Great British Sewing Bee?!
Last night I was catching up on the fabulous Great British Sewing Bee, if you haven't watched it yet, just think the Great British Bake-Off but for sewing! It was my favourite challenge week 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle week' so imagine how happy I was when I saw the fabulously dressed, fashion historian, Amber Butchart doing a segment on the 1940s 'Make Do & Mend' campaign for the program wearing one of my turbans! My pre-tied, stretchy turbans have long been my most popular design and were actually inspired by the fashions of the 1940s so it was a lovely moment as a designer.
I was lucky enough to meet Amber in person back in 2023 at the Goodwood Revival when she was doing a talk on the Revive & Thrive stage, the stage focused on 'rethink, repair and re-wear' something very important to me.
Make sure to give Amber a follow over on her instagram here for lots of amazing fashion and history.
