Vintage Hair Styles For The Bow Knot🎀
Starting 2024 with a new knot, meet the new Bow
A casual bow knot turban has been on my to do list since 2016, when I first started out, but somehow I always ended up doing something else. So it’s finally time to launch one that’s been designed to fit perfectly into your wardrobe.
This knot has been inspired by some great 1940s pieces (see inspiration pics below) and It’ll be available as both a headband (£20) or turban (£30). Whether dressed up or down this knot is sure to get a lot of love and will be launching as part of my Valentines Collection on January 28 at 2pm.
As a new design I thought it would be useful to showcase some vintage hairstyles it can work with.
Poodle Fringe Hairstyle: Creating a curled or ‘poodle’ fringe is a great look with a turban. My new Bow Knot sits really well behind this gorgeous fluffy fringe and you can find my step by step guide on how to create this curled fringe here.
Covered Hairstyle: One of the easiest & quickest hairstyles to do with a turban or a headband is to simply pop it on and use it to cover your hair. If you have a fringe you can simply pin it back or tuck it under the turban/
Side Roll Fringe: This is another quick style that is well worth mastering. It’s a really cute style and works very well with my Bow knot. Find a guide to creating this look here.
Plaited Fringe: This look is great if you have thick hair and want to do a quick vintage look. I wear this type of fringe a lot and it’s pretty easy once you have done it a couple of times. Find my step by step vintage hair tutorial for this look here.
Rolled Faux Fringe: This fringe is my go to look and is another great way to wear your hair in a vintage style. The Bow knot sits really well just behind this fringe and you can find my step by step guide here so you can create this look. This fringe is really dramatic and works well for both 1940s & 50s
